Antalya sits in the middle of ancient Pamphylia and Lycia — two of the most historically significant regions in the Mediterranean. Our cultural tours in Antalya cover the Kekova sunken city by boat, Aspendos Roman theatre, the Temple of Apollo at Side, and full-day trips to Pamukkale and Cappadocia. Licensed English-speaking guide included on every tour.
Free hotel pickup from Lara, Belek, Kemer, Side, and Antalya city centre. Pay on the day — no deposit required.
Not sure which historical tour to choose? Here's the honest breakdown:
The Demre-Myra-Kekova day tour is ADT's most varied cultural trip. It covers three sites: the Church of St. Nicholas in Demre (4th-century bishop, the original Santa Claus), the Lycian rock tombs at Myra (carved into a cliff face, some dating to the 4th century BC), and a boat trip over the Kekova sunken city — a partially submerged Lycian settlement visible beneath clear shallow water. Best for first-time visitors who want variety in one day.
Aspendos theatre (47km east of Antalya) is the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world. The stage building — the part that collapses at other sites — is almost entirely intact. Holds 15,000 people and still hosts opera performances in summer. If you can only visit one ancient site near Antalya, this is the one.
The Side & Manavgat Private Tour covers the Temple of Apollo — a standing Roman temple at the end of a sea-facing peninsula, between the restaurants and hotels. Side's ruins aren't behind fences; they're part of the town. Add Manavgat Bazaar (Wednesdays) for a full day.
The Pamukkale day trip from Antalya is a long one — approximately 5 hours of driving each way. The site is two things: the white calcium travertine terraces and Hierapolis, a complete Roman city on the plateau above them. If you have a free day and haven't seen it, it's worth it. If your time is short, Kekova gives better time-to-experience value.
Cappadocia is different in character — volcanic rock formations, underground cities, early Christian cave churches. The distance (7–8 hours by road) means it requires at least two days. We offer the Cappadocia Red Tour (Göreme Open Air Museum, valley walks) and the Cappadocia Green Tour (Derinkuyu underground city, Ihlara Valley).
