Q: How much walking is involved?

Both Perge and Aspendos are large archaeological sites with significant walking on uneven ground. Aspendos involves steps to reach the upper gallery. Side's old town is cobbled. This is a walking-heavy day. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are recommended. The tour is rated Easy but not suitable for guests with serious mobility limitations.

Q: Why is Aspendos considered the best-preserved Roman theatre?

Most Roman theatres have lost their stage buildings — the scaenae frons — which collapsed or were quarried for stone over the centuries. At Aspendos, the full stage building is intact, to its original height. This is extremely rare. The theatre was built in 155 AD by the architect Zeno, commissioned by the brothers Curtius Crispinus and Curtius Auspicatus. It is still used for performances today.

Perge was one of the great Pamphylian cities, with a 2nd-century colonnaded street, a stadium that seated 12,000, and a theatre visible from the approach road. If you want history with genuine depth, this is the tour for it. Lunch and waterfall ticket are included, so the day is mostly self-contained.

Not the right fit if: You want a beach day, a boat trip, or something lighter. This is a walking-heavy day at exposed sites — in summer, the heat at midday can be significant. Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel entrance in Antalya or Belek at 08:00. Air-conditioned vehicle for the full day. The first stop is Perge — approximately 15km east of Antalya city centre, around 15–20 minutes from most Antalya hotels.

08:30–10:00 :

Perge Ancient City

Perge was one of the major cities of ancient Pamphylia — founded, according to tradition, after the Trojan War. The Hellenistic gate at the entrance leads onto a colonnaded street that ran for several hundred metres through the city centre, with the remnants of shops and public buildings on both sides. The stadium at Perge seated 12,000 spectators and is one of the largest in the ancient world. The agora and the Roman-era bath complex are also substantial. Aspendos Theatre

Aspendos Theatre was built in 155 AD during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. It is, by general consensus among archaeologists, the best-preserved Roman theatre anywhere in existence. The stage building — the scaenae frons — is essentially complete: the full height, the archways, the decorative columns, and the upper gallery. Most Roman theatres have lost their stage buildings entirely; Aspendos has not. The theatre seats 15,000 and still hosts concerts and performances. Side — Apollo Temple & Old Town

Side was founded as a Pamphylian port city in the 7th century BC. The Apollo Temple — 2nd century AD — sits directly above the harbour on the southern tip of the peninsula. The temple area and harbour are accessible without an entrance fee. The old town takes 30–45 minutes on foot: the Roman gate at the entrance, intact city walls, cobbled streets, and the harbour promenade. Your guide covers the site.

16:00–16:30 :

Manavgat Waterfall

The Manavgat Waterfall is a wide cascade on the Manavgat River, approximately 30 minutes from Side. Tea gardens and restaurants line the riverbank. A 30-minute stop. Waterfall entrance ticket is included in the tour price.

17:00 :

Hotel Drop-off

Transfer back to Antalya and Belek hotels. Return by approximately 17:00. Drop-off directly at your hotel entrance.
