Is This Tour Right for You?
A good fit if: You want an evening out in Antalya that’s genuinely different from beach days and daytime tours. The Fire of Anatolia is not a small local production — it’s Turkey’s best-known folk dance ensemble, and seeing it at Aspendos specifically adds the context of the venue. The Roman theatre was built around 155 AD by the architect Zenon for the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, and its acoustics were designed so that a coin dropped on stage can be heard from the back rows. The programme runs through the folk dance traditions of different regions of Turkey and Anatolia — the costumes, music and choreography vary significantly across the regions covered, so the performance has variety even for viewers unfamiliar with Turkish dance styles. The pickup covers Antalya, Belek, Kemer, Side and Manavgat areas, so it works from most of the main resort zones.
Not the right fit if: You need a wheelchair-accessible venue or a stroller-accessible setting — Aspendos Arena’s ancient seating and terrain are not suitable for either. The venue is also not appropriate for infants. For daytime cultural touring around Antalya, the cultural and historical tours from Antalya include visits to archaeological sites, ancient cities and museums. About Aspendos Arena: Aspendos (ancient Aspendos) sits in the Pamphylian plain east of Antalya, near the town of Serik. The theatre was built during the Roman Imperial period and is considered one of the best-preserved ancient theatres in the world — the stage building (scaenae frons) still stands to its original height of 28 metres. Aspendos also holds an aqueduct, a basilica and a stadium from the same period; these are visible from the road approaching the theatre. The journey from Antalya takes approximately 45-50 minutes.
